Wine & Oyster Festival Masterclasses


Saturday


2pm-3pm – Oysters; from rags to riches - £20pp

Co-hosted by Stefan from The Wine Cellar and Toby from Raw Boys Club, come and learn about the fascinating history of Oysters, their place in society and of course their inseparable link to all things alcoholic! From the oyster & porterhouses of yesteryear, to the heady champagne days of Gatsby’s roaring 20’s, through to present day, we taste our way through history and the various alcoholic pairings to the world famous Oyster! (4 Oysters and 4 drinks included).

3pm-4pm – Shucking Masterclass - £20pp or £25pp with a drink

Whether you've never opened an Oyster and want to learn how to shuck or you're the Christmas chef that just can't quite get it right, Toby from RawBoys will take you from novice to shucker so you'll never fear the bivalve again. Every person who enters gets 12 Oysters to open, a shucking knife to take home and a firm pat on the back (COVID permitting) for getting closer to taking Toby's Job.

4pm-5pm – The Tabasco Oyster Shucking (and eating) Competition - £5pp

Join us to find out who the quickest shucker in Bedfordshire is! Every entrant will receive a Tabasco T shirt and the six Oysters that they've shucked, to eat. Your Shucking skills will be given the Examiners treatment by Toby From RawBoys and Woffy, the Tabasco Legend. The winner will walk away with a Tabasco hamper and a free Oyster Tasting Day at RawBoys in Angel, Islington.

5pm-6pm – English Wine Week Masterclass - £15pp

Hosted by Stefan from The Wine Cellar, it’s English Wine Week and that’s all the excuse we need to put on an English Wine Tasting! Come and discover what the modern English Wine movement has to offer, featuring Sparkling as well as still wines, and even some red! Featuring local vineyards and some further afield, this will be a wonderful way to discover some of the finest the UK has to offer, perfectly paired with cheese from local award-winning Bevistan Dairy (4 wines and cheese included).

Brunch! 11am-12pm – The Dark Art of Food & Wine Pairing - £25pp

Co-hosted by Stefan from The Wine Cellar and Pete from The Sun at Felmersham, join us for brunch and get taken through a journey of flavour at this fun and interactive masterclass in how to pair wine with food. You will be guided through 4 mini-plates and wines to discover what flavours complement each other and why.

12pm-1pm – Shucking Masterclass - £20pp or £25pp with a drink

Hosted by Stefan from The Wine Cellar, come and pit your wits against each other in this fun blind wine tasting competition! Do you know your Sancerre from your New Zealand Sauvignon? Come and taste the mysterious six to find out! The winner of this blind tasting competition will get a bottle of their favourite wine from the tasting!
